Winter can be colorful

In-season vegetables: parsnip topped shepherd's pie.
 It always seems that I eat much better when I buy local and in season, even if I don't have a plan for it. There are always plenty of recipes and something like shepherd's pie can be adapted to almost any vegetable. 

Served with bread and gruyere cheese. Starches and carbs, yes please!
